Part 1B:
I think this picture is a good representation of the Great Depression because this is an African American's house during the Great Depression. As you can see, it is very small, and it looks like the family is very poor.
Part 2A:
. In this picture, the first thing i notice is the people putside sitting on the bench. If someone was to take a picture like this today, it would be different because the buildings would be different looking, they would be more mordern. i wonder who took this picture.
I see corn in a field with a barn/shed in the background. In this image, the corn is drying up, probably because they haven't recieved water or its hot out. I want to know when this picture was taken.
This scene is in front of a store and cafe. You can see all the prices of the food, which are really cheap, compared to the prices today. If someone were to take a picture like this today, it would be different because the food wouldn't be out in the street, plus the prices in the window would be different. It would be the same becuase the building could be the same. i want to know why the person took this picture, maybe its because they wanted it so in the future we could compare it like I am doing right now.
Part 2B:
Bethlehem-Fairfield shipyards, Baltimore, Maryland. A drinking fountain
In this picture, i see a broken window with writing on it. The first thing i noticed was the writing, "water" and "soup". Maybe the audience of this image was to the people who were richer during this time, showing them that people need food and water, the people who are poor. From this image i can learn that possibly this was taken during a time where people were really poor. I want to know who this picture is about, if any. Also when and where this picture was taken.
Secondhand clothing stores and pawn shops on Beale Street, Memphis, Tennessee
In this picture, i see a hotel with a sign that says, "the best service for colored only". The sign was the first thing i saw. I see more words too, like in the back, there's a sign that says "loans". I think this picture was made to show people out there that there were people out there who cared for the colored people during these times.
In this picture, the first thing i saw was the people walking in the street. In this picture, there are regular people walking, a family, there are also cars. I think this was made in the 1800s, or the 1900s. i want to know the exact year this picture was taken and why.
